Dr. Kearney joined the Community Health Center staff in 1997 and has been Director of Behavioral Health since 1999. He is a licensed psychologist with a clinical specialization in the treatment of children, adolescents, and their families. He completed his undergraduate work at Yale University, earning a BA degree with a double major in Spanish Literature and Psychology. He also holds a MA in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Fuller Graduate School of Psychology, both granted in a unique American Psychological Association accredited program that focuses on the dual psychological and spiritual nature of persons. Dr. Kearney’s clinical interests include the treatment of survivors of family violence and child sexual abuse, the intersection of the spiritual and psychological aspects of the person and the provision of treatment that touches and heals both, and the development of programs to provide “one stop shopping” with integrated behavioral health and medical care for clients. He is the author of Caring for Sexually Abused Children: A Handbook for Families and Churches, published by Intervarsity Press in 2001.
