CHC Celebrates Topping-Off of the Knowledge & Technology Center Construction

Community Health Center, Inc. (CHC) topped off the construction of the Knowledge & Technology Center Wednesday morning. Local dignitaries, CHC staff, Middletown residents, and students from MacDonough Elementary School’s third grade class all signed a steel beam that signified the completion of the new building’s structure. The crowd watched as the beam was lifted in the air and put into place.

CHC Awarded $100,000 to Create Therapeutic Gardens at School-Based Health Centers

Schools in East Haven, Meriden and New Britain to Benefit

Building on its national recognition as a leader in connecting horticulture to better health outcomes, Community Health Center, Inc. has received $100,000 to create therapeutic community gardens at three school-based health centers in Connecticut. The funding was awarded by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).

Community Health Center, Inc. (CHC) Chief Dental Officer Sheela Tummala, DDS, MPH, was presented with the Outstanding Clinician Award at the National Network for Oral Health Access (NNOHA) annual conference. Dr. Tummala was recognized for her exceptional work as a practicing dentist, her advocacy for her patients, her commitment to research and her service as an educator.

NIMAA Appoints Elena Thomas Faulkner CEO

Denver Resident Takes Helm of Nation’s Most Innovative Medical Assistant Training Program

The National Institute for Medical Assistant Advancement (NIMAA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Elena Thomas Faulkner as its CEO. She joins NIMAA from Denver’s La Clinica Tepeyac, Inc. where she served as Chief Strategy Officer, and will be based in NIMAA’s Denver office.
