CHC Begins HIV/AIDS Outreach

When the HIV/AIDS crisis broke in the 1980s, CHC welcomed patients with medical, behavioral health, and social support care. The Oasis Center provided lifesaving, affirmative support. Supported by funding from sources like the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, the Department of Public Health, and the Health Resources and Services Administration Ryan White Program, CHC became a leader in providing HIV care. Today, under the leadership of Kasey Harding and Dr. Marwan Haddad, CHC’s Center for Key Populations trains and supports health care providers and practices domestically and internationally in community-based HIV prevention, treatment, and support.
