CHC New Britain opens. Again, local groups – in this case New Britain General Hospital and the city Health Department – reached out to CHC for a solution to a problem. The new Route 9 highway cut New Britain in half, leaving the northern section without adequate access to primary care. CHC purchased an old building that housed the City Welfare office, a local deli and a limousine service and transformed it into a stunning primary care practice.
