Free, No Appointment, 7 Days-A-Week COVID Testing At Hammonasset

Originally posted on Clinton, CT Patch

Starting Friday morning, anyone can get a free COVID-19 test without an appointment at Hammonasset State Park.

Testing will be conducted 7 days a week from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. No appointments, no fee, open to all ages, with or without symptoms.

While you do not need to have any symptoms to get tested and no appointment is required, it’s strongly suggested by Community Health Center that folks download and print a registration form to bring with to save time in line.

It’s also noted that people should be prepared to “potentially wait due to increased demand in the state – bring a book and/or a snack so your wait is comfortable.” But keep in mind that, “Due to high demand, the number of cars in line will be assessed beginning at noon and throughout the early afternoon. Lines may close early if demand exceeds our ability to test everyone in line before closing. CHC staff will advise those already in line when capacity for the day has been reached. We appreciate your patience and flexibility.”

And while anyone can be tested, children under the age of 18 may be tested with parent or guardian consent.

People can get tested as many times as needed, and “especially for those working in the food or other customer-facing industries, frequent testing is very important.”
