in memory of the homeless residents of Middletown who died in 2025.
Middletown, Conn., December 19, 2025 – Community Health Center, Inc. hosted its Annual Homeless Persons’ Memorial Candlelight Service Thursday, December 18 at the Church of the Holy Trinity, bringing together community members, elected officials, advocates, and service providers to honor individuals who died this year while experiencing homelessness.
As evening settled over Main Street, the sanctuary filled with candlelight and quiet reflection. The atmosphere was solemn and intentional, marked by moments of shared stillness as attendees gathered to remember lives lost and to stand together in solidarity.
Speakers included Middletown Mayor Gene Nocera and Senator Matthew Lesser. Their remarks reflected a shared message: honoring those who have died must also include a renewed commitment to addressing homelessness through meaningful resources, coordinated services, and sustained advocacy.
Kasey Harding, Director of the Center of Key Populations at Community Health Center, Inc., spoke to the significance of the gathering and its broader purpose. “This is a time to honor those who have died this year while experiencing homelessness, but it is also a chance for each of us to advocate in our own communities for the resources needed to address homelessness.”
