CHC was one of seven Connecticut health centers to receive funding to help combat substance abuse and the opioid epidemic. CHC used Project ECHO to help educate, train, guide and support the behavioral health providers in buprenorphine medication-assisted treatment (BMT) for opioid-dependent patients in the target communities. CHC’s Weitzman Institute subsequently provided this training to health centers in other states.
