Mark and Margaret hosted their first radio show, featuring Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Dr. Mitch Katz , then San Francisco’s Director of Public Health, to discuss the public option for health care and universal access. Conversations on Health Care® focuses on opportunities for reform and innovation in health care. The funny story about this show is that the Speaker said she would call at 11 for the interview – but 5 minutes before the interview was to begin the radio station had a major glitch and was offline for 90 minutes. You can imagine our disbelief that we had one shot to have a guest of this caliber and lost her. Fortunately the station came back online. The Speaker called, apologized for being late, and the show was born.
