CHC became the first Federally Qualified Health Center in the U.S. to operate its own Project ECHO® clinics, specifically designed to meet the needs of safety net primary care providers and their communities. Dr. Sanjeev Arora from the University of New Mexico developed the ECHO model to provide care to hard to reach patients in rural New Mexico. While there are different reasons for some patients to be hard to reach in Connecticut, Project ECHO has proven to be effective in urban settings as well.
