Psychology Practicum Training

Training the next generation of behavioral health care providers

Community Health Center, Inc. (CHC) provides the opportunity to work within a fast-paced environment, where students train in a supportive environment, under supervision of a licensed behavioral health staff member. Students provide services to underserved clients across the lifespan in an integrated, primary care setting that offers medical, dental, and behavioral health services. As part of the shifting landscape, training includes guidance on providing services both in person and via telehealth. The practicum year provides students the exposure to a broad clinical experience through individual and group therapy.

This robust program is supported by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Graduate Psychology Education (GPE) Grant which allows us to offer eligible accepted students a $25,000 stipend for the training year. Per HRSA regulations students with a temporary or student visa, or an undocumented status are not eligible for the stipend.

This project is supported by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as part of an award totaling $1,338,555 with zero percentage financed with non-governmental sources. The contents are those of the author(s) and do not necessarily represent the official views of, nor an endorsement, by HRSA, HHS or the U.S. Government.
